Let’s break it down. What is included?
This 6 week program is dedicated time to focus on strengthening your body, connecting with your baby and engaging in a supportive community.
What’s included in the Stroller MVMNT Program?
Weekly in-person classes
These classes will take place at Springbank or OEV every week. It can seem daunting as a new mom to commit to a time every week, I get it! Think of this as accountability, to take the time to get out with your babe, bond with other mamas and focus on YOU. A missed class can be made up during designated make up classes or considered used.
YOU WILL NEED:
Yoga mat
Water bottle
Pair of hand weights (3, or 5 lbs, 8 Lbs)
We can arrange to borrow if you need!Mini Loop Bands - we have some for purchase!
Stroller, toys and snacks for your little one
WHERE WILL WE BE?
Old East Village, London - MEETING AT BOYLE MEMORIAL PARK
Byron, London - MEETING AT SPRINGBANK PARK - METRO ENTRANCE PARKING LOT
Once registration has been completed, the official meet up location will be emailed out.
All sessions begin regardless of weather!
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Mamas atleast 8 weeks postpartum, and is also prenatal friendly, if you are pregnant with a little one at home. I HIGHLY recommend taking our Mama Circle Program in studio to prepare for these sessions. We prioritize functional strength, which means alignment, posture and pelvic floor function above all else. Another option would be to see a pelvic floor physio to get assessed about proper functionality before exercising!
** If you are closer to 6 weeks postpartum and looking to move your body, I welcome you to join us! A good test to tell if your physically ready would be to take daily 1 hour walks. If you can do so without pelvic floor feedback or dysfunction (leaking, urge to pee, heaviness, increased prolapse symptoms, joint pain etc..) You are probably OK to join, as long as your care provider agrees. This is a LOW impact class.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A CLASS?
The first 5-10 minutes will be a warm up, followed by about 20-30 minutes of upper body/lower body strength, glute isolations and low impact cardio training. We will then find some shade and move into 10 minutes of stationary matwork! This is great opportunity to take babe out of the stroller (as long as they will stay with you). Then finally cooling down for 10 minutes. Each class will be roughly 55 minutes.
If you prefer to drop in per class, instead of committing to the full 6 week program. This will only based on availability. Classes are capped at 15 Mamas plus instructor.
Solo Drop in classes will be $25 each and opened after the first week.
A few housekeeping notes for in person classes:
If you are bringing older children, totally fine, just please make sure they also stay in the stroller! This helps keep you focused and the children safe.
Dress yourself and baby in layers! It’s going to be a cool spring and hot summer, sometimes inclement weather occurs out of nowhere. Make sure you have a rain guard for your stroller!
Bring distraction methods for the little ones! Though we will try to keep them moving, you never know when they will decide they’ve had enough. Once enrolled your welcome email will include a few of my suggestions for different age groups. However, you know your baby best!
Most importantly, this experience is so much more than just a workout. I know as a new mama, it can feel intimidating to bring the baby anywhere. Will they fuss? Will they get hungry? Will I need to change their diaper? I GOT YOU. Your baby’s well -being is the most important thing. If you need to stop and feed your baby, DO IT. If you need to stop and change their diaper, or tend to them because they are crying, DO IT. You will be supported either way.
Get out, get connected and get sweaty!
